About Us
The People and Purpose Behind Mercer County Council on Aging
For decades, MCCoA has been a reliable anchor for older adults and families seeking guidance, connection, and practical help. Everything we do is rooted in genuine care and the belief that every senior deserves to feel valued, supported, and at home in their community.
Why We Exist and Who We Serve
A longstanding commitment to dignity, independence, and community for Mercer County seniors
Our mission is simple and sincere: to help older people live dignified and reasonably independent lives in their own homes for as long as possible. From the beginning, MCCoA has focused on practical support paired with personal connection, ensuring seniors never feel alone in navigating the challenges of aging.
Founded decades ago to meet the growing needs of older adults in Celina and the surrounding towns, the Council has expanded into a full-service organization trusted by thousands of local families. Over the years we’ve introduced new programs—like our increasingly popular travel offerings—and strengthened partnerships that help us better serve the community every day.

A Community Organization Built on Trust
Publicly supported through a county levy and local donations, MCCoA operates with transparency, accountability, and community pride.
The Principles That Guide Our Work
What seniors, families, and supporters can expect from us every day
Dignity
We honor the unique experiences and identities of every senior, ensuring they feel respected in every interaction. This value shapes how we design services, greet visitors, and support families facing difficult decisions.
Independence
We believe older adults deserve the choice to remain in their own homes and stay engaged in the life they love. Our programs are built to reduce barriers, strengthen confidence, and support aging with autonomy.
Community
MCCoA thrives because Mercer County believes in taking care of one another. Volunteers, donors, and partners help create a warm, welcoming environment where seniors feel they belong.
The People Who Lead and Support Our Mission
Dedicated professionals and community members who deeply care about Mercer County’s seniors
MCCoA is guided by a compassionate team of staff members, an active community-based Board of Directors, and hundreds of volunteers who bring our mission to life every day.
